The idea this week has to overturn Asked for 2½ × 1⅓, most of a Grade 6 class will answer 2⅙ — multiply the wholes, multiply the parts, put them together. It is a sensible idea and it is wrong: the rectangle it describes has four pieces and the method keeps only two. Day 1 draws that rectangle rather than announcing the rule, and the two missing pieces come to exactly the gap.

For the teacher — six documents

Planning, assessing and recording. Two lesson plan formats, because they do different jobs.

📋

1Syllabus

Full-year course syllabus — grade level standard, the three content domains, all four CG quarters with content and performance standards, all 52 competencies mapped across 33 weeks, DepEd grading weights, and a verification checklist. Names the one week that is genuinely over-packed, and where to take the slack from.

🗂️

2aLesson Plan — ILAW

The whole week, in the format you file. Intentions · Learning Experiences · Assessment · Ways Forward — the single template DO 009 s. 2026 prescribes for SY 2026–2027. Five days from the four-piece rectangle to word problems, with an error hunt on Day 4 and the (a + b)(c + d) link to Grade 8 as enrichment.

📝

2bLesson Plan — Lesson Exemplar

Day 1, at teaching depth. A 45-minute lesson in the MATATAG Lesson Exemplar format, timed to the minute. Seven anticipated misconceptions with scripted responses, full answer keys, three-tier differentiation, and a lesson that needs nothing but chalk and squared paper.

📐

+Assessment Pack

A Table of Specifications for the term, three complete papers — Summative 1, Summative 2 and the 40-item Term Examination — with full answer keys and marking notes, a weekly written check, and rubrics for all four performance tasks. Every answer verified arithmetically before shipping.

✏️

3.3Offline Activities

Three individual options and two group options. No electricity, no devices, no budget. The group activities split the two solution methods between two different people, so agreement between them is evidence rather than assumption.

🧮

+Class Record

Enter raw scores, get the grade. Written Works 20 · Performance Tasks 50 · Examinations 30, with the examination component split ST1/ST2/TE. Carries the SY 2026–2027 adjusted transmutation and the SY 2027–2028 zero-based rule as a switch. Runs in the browser, saves nothing, sends nothing.

For the class — four materials

What the learners see, use and hold.

📊

3.1Slide Presentation

15 slides timed to the lesson plan. The rectangles are drawn to true proportion — a piece labelled ⅙ really is a sixth of the area — so the geometry and the label say the same thing. Keyboard, touch and click navigation; prints as a one-slide-per-page handout.

🎮

3.2Interactive Game

Make It a Fraction — three rounds: convert, multiply any combination, then reason. One wrong option in every Round 2 question is the part-by-part answer, so choosing it names the exact error. The Teacher Panel reports per-round accuracy and says which round's weakness matters most.

📄

+Learner Worksheet

The one artifact a learner actually holds. Printable A4, one page: two rectangles to cut into four, conversions both directions, five products, estimate- then-compute, true-or-false, and an inverse challenge. The answer key is on screen for you and absent from the printout.

🖼️

+Wall Chart

A printable A4 landscape reference — the four-piece rectangle in three steps, the one rule, twelve conversions to know by sight, every shape pairing worked, and the part-by-part error shown struck through beside the right answer. Also available as PDF and HTML.

Verified against the official CG

Standards and competencies here are quoted from the official MATATAG Mathematics Curriculum Guide (DepEd, August 2023), which is committed to this repository — Grade 6 sits on pages 22 and 48–51. Every product, conversion and drawn proportion in every artifact was checked with a script before shipping.

How the week fits together Day 1 runs the lesson plan with the slides — or Individual Activity 1 if there is no projector. Day 2 drills conversion with the Conversion Sprint and the game's Round 1. Day 3 is The Rectangle Wall, with Round 2. Day 4 is the error hunt, Round 3 and the Whole-Number Hunt as enrichment. Day 5 is Costing the Tarpaulin, then the weekly check.
