Grade 1 learning areas
MATATAG cuts Grades 1–2 to five learning areas. Every file set below covers all five:

These are the highest-value files on the whole site for this repository. The curriculum
guide assigns content to terms; the Budget of Work assigns it to weeks. That is the exact gap
recorded as unresolved in matatag-brief.md, and it is a three-term document, so it also shows
how the DO 009 s. 2026 recalendaring lands in practice.

Before building Grade 1, settle these
A full scoping review of what has to be built — the inventory, where the Grade 4 template breaks, and why GMRC should not get a scored game — is in
grade-1-artifact-review.md.
- Language. Grades 1–3 Mathematics is taught in the mother tongue, not English
(
ARTIFACT-SPEC.md§5). The Grade 1 set is therefore not a translation of the Grade 4 set — it is a different-language artifact from the first line. DepEd recognises 19 MTB-MLE languages; Filipino is the practical default. - Calendar — settled. Every file above is three-term, and the Grade 4 set has been migrated to match. Grade 1 is built three-term from the start. Note the Grade 1 curriculum guide, like Grade 4's, still organises content into four quarters; keep CG quarter attribution on every competency and map it onto terms in §5, exactly as the Grade 4 syllabus does.
- Which week. Grade 4 sits at Term 1 Week 7. The equivalent Grade 1 anchor should be chosen from the Mathematics Budget of Work above, not assumed — it is the one file that states week placement outright.
