Name the Partner
Every force has exactly one partner: the same two objects, the other way round. Find it, tell it apart from a balanced pair, and then explain why the boat moves at all.
Three rounds. Round 1 asks for the partner. Round 2 asks whether two forces are a pair at all. Round 3 asks the questions people argue about.
Teacher Panel
Formative evidence, not a mark. Round 2 is the diagnostic: it is the only round where a learner has to notice which object each force acts on, and it is where the book-on-a-table error lives.
